The more I learn the more I see how this thin and muscular idealism has really taken fitness away from doing what is best for individual bodies. . When I started to feel better after my thyroid was shutdown for good and the dose of synthroid I was taking was stable I felt a strong urge to MOVE my body. . I had been sick for a long time especially in 2017. I carried and gave birth (csections) to three beautiful babies in less than 5 years. Many of my muscles were tight with years of stress and weakened from strain and/or underuse. . I knew when I started my fitness I gave no Flying Ducks about appearance. I needed strength mobility and balance for chasing after the aforementioned children and getting the laundry baskets up and down the stairs. . I started with Yoga which I still love and enjoy. I also added some of the classics which were recommended in MANY of the beginner exercise routines I found. I did them crunches I did those bicycles.... I hurt my back and my pelvic floor weakened (I have a sexual wellness background Im very familiar with the pelvic floor in recreational ways haha). . Im not attacking crunches or exercises like them completely. Im more so pointing out that these exercises can be HARMFUL to many people but they sold as the must do everybody exercise. Why? Because thats how you get abs. . There is much more to all of this more than a caption on Instagram can handle! Ill be making a more informative blog post in the future!
